Feedback
Today our teacher has gave us some feedback from our 1 minute music video which was Stronger by Kanye West. He also suggested like I stated in my blog post with the video that we use a less well know song for our full music video. The song we have chosen is 'Day n Night' by Kid Cudi, which the lyrics are well know however they know the remix version, not the original. Furthermore, our teacher suggested that we should use a range of shots. This will also be evident in our next music video because we will use Goodwin's theory and link the visuals with the lyrics. Finally, he suggested that we use some colour correction to improve our overall effect of our video. This will be most important for our next video as we want to link Day n Night to light and dark so our video will mostly be black and white. This feedback will improve our next video because we know what to work on next time and it will be evident in our video.

One Page Pitch
One page pitch
Song ideas: Kid Cudi-day
n night, Gnarls Barkley-Crazy, Diddy-I’ll be missing you
Genre/sub-genre: Hip-Hop/Rnb
Location: Chesterfield,
quite a populated area with people
Overall effect: For the
first two songs we want to make the impression that he’s living in a completely
different word and things are in his head. The last song would be a more slow
song and one people can relate to.
Why it is suitable for the artists/genre: We will be doing a fast paced video because this is
what we as an audience expect to have in a Hip-Hop genre. The lyrics will most
likely link to the visuals and the artists we have chosen are all similar in
different ways so which ever song we chose their will most likely be
similarities.
Who is appeals to: We want to
appeal to a younger generation. We feel that our song choices and genres would
appeal to them instead of the older generation because they might not get the
message we are trying to give. Also we feel that the younger generation would
prefer this type of music.
Skills we need: The skills
we need to demonstrate in our music video is creativity. This is because we
feel in this type of genre the video needs to be clever and imaginative. If we
demonstrate this we know it will appeal audiences. Another key skill in which
we need for any music video we create is organisation. It is key to be
organised and set different roles for people so they we don’t get behind on our
work. One final skill is teamwork, which we demonstrated in our thriller
opening. If we work together as a team we will get things done and we know as a
team we work well together.
